Custody Evaluation Support

Writing Support

We offer comprehensive wraparound drafting and editing of custody narratives and questionnaires. Narratives are trauma-informed, survivor-focused, and written in a condensed way that is child-centered.

Evidence Organization

We organize evidence in an accessible format that allows the evaluator to see patterns of coercive control.

Support & Coaching

We offer support and coaching during the custody evaluation process. We help survivors portray themselves in the best possible light during interviews and home visits.

RELOCATION STUDIES

Relocation Reports

For survivors, getting “home” can mean the difference between safety, security, support systems and stability for children and being further abused post-separation. Survivor Resource Group understands that relocation cases are some of the hardest to win. We work with survivors to gather accurate data on the geography, demographic information and school quality in the proposed relocation area and synthesize with current research in a way that is easy to understand for custody evaluators and the court.

Expert Witness Testimony

Survivor Resource Group does not provide expert witness testimony for relocation reports, but survivors may choose to use these reports as information they provide a custody evaluator or third party professional.

SCHOOL COMPARISON STUDIES

School Comparison Reports

Survivor Resource Group prepares district and school comparison reports for civil cases involving disputes regarding schools. Reports are situated in the context of the best interest of the child and include a holistic approach to the child’s needs including any special learning needs, IEP or 504 plans and any unique circumstances or disabilities.

Reports are prepared using quantitative and qualitative data, the child’s historical academic performance data, and any other information available from parents. We do not tour schools, meet with school personnel, or interview children, as our reports are intended to guide judicial officers in understanding the nexus between education research and the child’s learning needs without the bias of school personnel or non research-based factors of school quality and student performance.

Expert Witness Testimony

Survivor Resource Group provides expert testimony on school quality. Survivor Resource Group can speak to school quality (current and proposed) and student achievement (how children are performing in school), and factors that contribute to success or regression for children in schools.

“Quality custody support can be the difference between freedom and entrapment for survivors and children.”
